NKJV Greatest Stories of the Bible
For a while now I have been a book reviewer for Thomas Nelson Publishers. So far, I’ve written reviews on fiction, theology, and even a children’s book. Now this. Greatest Stories of the Bible is not your traditional book. In fact, it isn’t even a book.
Thomas Nelson’s description
A storybook accounting of the most memorable people and remarkable events of the Bible.
Stretching across both the Old and New Testaments, this heirloom edition provides readers with the tales of the Bible in an easy-to-navigate, storybook format. From the creation of the universe to Jesus’ promise to return to Earth again, the NKJV Greatest Stories of the Bible recounts more than two hundred fifty of the most valuable lessons and triumphs from the most memorable people of the Bible. Enjoy reading these stories again and again and gain new insight into their meanings.
My Take
Greatest Stories of the Bible was created on a novel idea. Who doesn’t think “I’d love to have a book with the stories of the Bible organized!” But sad to say, the finished project isn’t much different from picking up a Bible and reading it straight through. About the only difference: it omits portions of Scripture that are not storical in nature. Overall, if you were thinking of buying this for someone for Christmas or whatnot, just buy them a Bible. It contains the WHOLE Bible and you can get one for the same price.
