Called to Worship
Called to Worship is a book by Vernon M. Whaley on “our response to God’s call.” Whaley, the Director of the Center for Worship at Liberty University, writes about the topic of worship.
Throughout the book, Whaley is constantly providing Scriptures for everything. I love that. Too many people today don’t back up what they say with Scripture. On a side note, Whaley makes use of 12 Bible versions. Anyway, he constantly does a good job both describing worship and talking about true worship based on what Jesus said in John 4 to the Samaritan woman. Mr Whaley also takes a non-sectarian approach to worship, talking about Catholic style, Baptist style, Pentecostal style, etc.
Vernon Whaley does a great job with this book. I would recommend it to anyone, especially for future worship leaders and contemporary Christian artists. End note: I will be attending Liberty University to study Worship, in the fall of 2010.
